Change a child’s life.
Support the service dog program for children with limited mobility at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Northern California.
| |
At Shriners hospitals there is never a charge to the patient for treatment of burns, spinal injuries, orthopedics, or cleft pallet. Service dogs are provided to patients with limited mobility, also at no charge.
You can help change a child’s life forever by granting independence and security with a dog who has had a highly specialized form of training. It takes two years to teach these life companions to respond to verbal commands to perform tasks such as:
|
| Open & close doors, cabinets, drawers
Retrieve & pick up objects
Alert others when aid is needed
Push buttons, operate levers
Operate lights and appliances
Dress and undress
Brush teeth, groom
Take medication
Assist with household chores
Escort in public for safety and mobility
